QUENCHING HIS THIRST?

Memorise: "And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved "( 2 Cor 12:15)
Read: 2 Corinthians 12:13-15
13 For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.
14 Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
David was thirsty after enemies surrounded Bethlehem (2 Sam 23:14-17). He specifically requested for water from the well of the gate at Bethlehem. Three of his men risked their lives and broke through the besieging army and returned with the water. But he considered their sacrifice too costly, so he offered it as a drink offering to God. Those who will satisfy the deepest longing of the King of kings must have certain qualities. They must be people of action. They must be single- minded. They must also be men and women of focus - those who are sure of where they are going. One reason football is a famous game is because it is a game of life and focus. Players may be dribbling and doing acrobatics, sometimes while with the ball, they may move a little away from opponent's goal post, yet they know they are in the field to deliver goals. You should make up your mind on what you want to be for the Lord and what you want to accomplish for His glory. When the iron curtains dropped from Russia and Christians began to go there from different parts of the world, including Nigeria, some people came and asked me if I was not going to Russia, since Evangelist so and so and others have gone. I simply told them I have my own assignment. I am not an evangelist. My assignment is to build churches. If I go there, it is not just to conduct a crusade but to open churches.
In Philippians 3:13-14, Paul was certain about where he was pressing towards. If you do not have a specific goal or destination, you will go everywhere others are going. You cannot satisfy Jesus that way. Another quality that is expected of those who would meet the Master's deepest need is that they must be men and women of sacrifice. Several divine assignments that will be given to you will require sacrifice. In 2 Corinthians 12:15 , Paul said he was willing both to spend his material resources and to be spent - to exhaust even his intellect, physical strength and energy to the detriment of his well being. How ready are you to sacrifice to the King of kings? A chief in one of our churches in Ilesa once shared this testimony. While we were building a church, he was the only rich man among us and I was next to him in wealth. When we were mixing concrete and doing manual labour, he would wear his flowing agbada (native wear) and be supervising others. Although he supported us financially, one day God told him if he did not carry some of the concrete, others would receive greater reward than him. To satisfy the King of kings, your life must be one of continuous sacrifice.
ACTION POINT:
Lead at least 10 souls to Christ this period as a way of quenching Christ's thirst.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
