(Prov 8 - Prov 11)
Memorise: "For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself" (Rom 14:7)
Read: Proverbs 11:24-26
24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
One thing we notice in 2 Kings 7:3 is that the deliverance of the lepers started from a question: 'Why sit we here until we die?' Do you know that if they had not asked that question, they would have died unknown? If you can ask yourself the right questions, you will not remain on the same spot. But if you are not used to asking why certain things turned out the way they did, or why you have continued to suffer from a particular problem, you may not see its end. If you look through the scriptures, you will find so many questions human beings, animals and spirits have asked. Do you take things for granted? Your present situation is the product of certain steps, actions and decisions you took yesterday. Remember to ask yourself "why"?
After the four lepers had had their fill of the booties from the Syrian army's camp, they decided to spread the good news to fellow starving Israelites. This tells us that the purpose of being blessed is for you to be a blessing to others. God will break the yokes and bondages in your life so that you can be light enough to help others. In Genesis 12:1-3, God promised Abraham that he would be a blessing. For you to be a blessing suggests that you will have in excess. Some have their wardrobe so full of assorted clothes that their challenge is deciding on what to wear. If God prospers you but you keep it to yourself, you will soon lose your attraction and begin to stink. Any prosperity not used to glorify God eventually becomes a curse. Examine yourself and see what you are keeping back that you should have shared. Release them today.
Have you received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour? Has the Lord done something unique in your life? Then go ahead and share the good news with the unsaved - loved ones, neighbours, colleagues and even those who regard you as an enemy. Don't hold back this good news. The lepers realized that sharing the good news with others was infact doing good to themselves. How? Sharing the good news will prevent mischief from befalling them. Also, if the soldiers were returning and they had found only the four of them, they would have easily over-powered them: but seeing the whole nation of Israel gathered, they would not even dare to return. If you share the good news of Jesus Christ, you are doing yourself a world of good. If you eat alone, you may turn your blessing into a curse.
ACTION POINT:
Each time you share the Good News of Jesus Christ, you avert an impending doom.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
