BIBLE IN A YEAR: Jer. 33-36
MEMORIZE: “Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it” ( Zech 4:7)
READ:Zechariah 4: 5-7
5.Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
6. Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
7. Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
Caleb’s call to Joshua, ‘‘Give me this mountain’’ recorded in Joshua 14:6-14 is a clarion call for God to make him a problem solver. A mountain could mean a problem. A mountain could also be an obstruction to your destiny. God has a plan for your life. When the enemy knows that God has a great plan for you, he will create a problem that could block the path into that destiny. ‘Give me this mountain’ therefore is a cry for God to deliver the hindrance to your destiny into your hands. Every mountain the enemy has located on the path to your destiny shall be delivered into your hands today in Jesus’ name.
In 1 Samuel 17, the devil was aware that David had been anointed to be the next king over Israel. He then planned a mountain – Goliath of Gath to take over the kingdom of Israel before David would consummate Heaven’s plan. Hence, David asked God to give him this Goliath so that he could reach his goal. After Goliath’s defeat, David stood on him. He was saying, ‘I am standing on the mountain that was standing between me and my destiny’. This season, you shall have victory over your mountain and you shall possess all your possessions in Jesus’ name. When we were in the first auditorium, a word came one day about a young man whose appointment was terminated for no reason. The Lord said the one who was responsible would die the following week so that the fellow could continue with his life. The following week, his father died and the boy was recalled at his place of work and promoted.
“Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it” ( Zech 4:7). Challenge that mountain confronting you. Every mountain standing in your way will soon become a plain ground. That means is shall soon be levelled. It might have been a mountain to so many people but because it made the mistake of standing in your path, it shall be destroyed. Who is that enemy standing in your way? The Lord will cause it to lose all its problematic qualities. Like David, you shall stand on your mountain. You shall tread on your problems in the Name of Jesus Christ. Challenge that mountain by asking ‘Who are you, O mountain?’
Action point : Until you confront your mountain, you will never see the plain ground it really is.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
