(Is 46 - Is 48)
Memorise: "Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work" (Jn 4:34)
Read: John 4:23-24
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
When David and his men were surrounded, he wished he could get the water from the well at the gate of Bethlehem (2 Sam 23:14-17). Just as king David did not ask for just any nearby water, so also the King of kings has some deep needs that He wants satisfied. What are these deepest longings? John 15:16 says, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you". One of the Lord's deepest needs is souls. If you are a soul winner, it won't be long before you become His friend. Soul winning is upper most in God's heart. It is not just enough to win a soul once in a while, but to be a die-hard soul winner. God hates sin so much but loves holiness. Holiness is God's nature. Until a sinner is born again, the fellow cannot live in holiness. I will go any where and go any length just to win souls. I was invited to a Cherubim and Seraphim church sometime ago. They told me I cannot enter with my shoes on. I told them I will not only remove my shoes but that I am prepared to remove just anything they want removed for me to have an opportunity to share the Gospel. My focus is souls. To what extent can you go for souls? What sacrifices have you made just to fetch souls into God's Kingdom?
In Matthew 9:37-38, the Lord asked the disciples to join Him in praying for more labourers. God is not just looking for labourers, He is in need of co-labourers. That is a labourer who understands His employer and is ready to fulfil the mandate of His employer. One who will depend completely on the Holy Spirit in executing divine tasks. Are you such a labourer? Similarly, in John 4:23-24, God is seeking for a special group of worshippers - those who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Children seek wisdom, business people seek money, politicians seek power but God seeks sincere, word-based, and spirit-led worshippers. Are you one of such worshippers? That is why He desires souls. When sinners are saved, they will worship Him. Which of those deep needs of God are you wholeheartedly satisfying like David's men? Happy New Year!
ACTION POINT:
Thank God for keeping you and your family to the end of Year 2009. Ask for grace to be more Heavenly-minded and productive in year 2010.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
