LEADERSHIP IS COSTLY

Memorise: "Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend" (1 Cor 8:13)

Read: Esther 4:15-16

"Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness" (Prov 8:18).

What you choose determines what you get. Generally, when you ask for a particular thing, that is what you will get. But there are a few things you will ask for th...

(Ps 46 - Ps 48)

Memorise: "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps" (Prov 16:9)

Read: Genesis 18:1-3

When the time of God's favour is ripe, certain events take place. For the one with a discerning heart, it is easy to sense your time to move to the next level. May you not miss your time of favour in Jesus' Name. From Biblical accounts and personal experience, when your time of favour comes God could order the steps of your h...

Memorise: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2)

Read: Romans 12:1-2

Believers must not toy with anything evil. You must cultivate the habit of refusing or rejecting anything that can lead you to sin. If you refuse to connive with the fraudulent in your office to cheat on your organization, you ...

(Ps 40 - Ps 42)

Memorise: "Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ" (Eph 3:8)

Read: Eph 3:5-8

A ladder is an instrument for climbing. In Genesis 28:10-13, Jacob dreamt of a ladder that touched both Heaven and earth. The presence of a ladder suggests that ascent is possible. On the other hand, it also suggests that descent is possible. Matthew 23:1...

Read: Philippians 3:12-14

Your deeds, words, conduct and attitude can either attract positive or negative change. In the parable of the talents documented in Matthew 25:14-30, the man who had a change for increase got there by dint of hard work. He was...

HE CREATES WINE

Friday, September  24, 2010
(Ps 31 - Ps 33)

Memorise: "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:3)

Read: John 1:1-3

Just as you have the old wine, so also do you have the new wine. Until the chairman of the marriage at Cana in Galilee tasted the new wine, he did not appreciate the remarkable difference (John 2:1-11). Hence, Psalm 34:8 says, "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him". Until yo...

Thursday, September  23, 2010
(Ps 28 - Ps 30)

Memorise: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5)

Read: 2 Chronicles 1:7-10

One leadership trait you must have is a servant-heart. Also, a leader must be humble. It takes humility to have a servant-heart. In John 13:13-16, our Lord Jesus Christ said that one trait that would stand believers out is humility - their ability to stoop low...

(Ps 25 - Ps 27)

Memorise: "Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase " (Job 8:7)

Read: John 2:1-11

One lesson we can learn about God and timing is that He sometimes reserves His intervention in a life, family or situation to the last moment of an era, age, year, month, week, day, hour or second. This is why you must never lose hope of God's intervention when a service is coming to an end or when a year or day is co...

(Ps 22 - Ps 24)

Memorise: "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace" (Exo 14:14)

Read: Mark 6:45-51

Apart from the enemy's renewed determination to hold them back and their need of God's high hand, another challenge that confronted the Israelites as they set out for the promised land was fear. Even though they had left Egypt, they were gripped with fear. The forces of fear and intimidation opposing a crossover could be so strong to ...

Read: 2 Kings 4:8-13

If you must be what God has designed for you to be, you cannot afford to skip any stage in God's training process. Today, some people are trying to dodge what God has allowed them to go through and in the process are turning themselves into half-baked disciples....

Memorise: "What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose" (Ps 25:12)

Read: 2 Kings 5:20-27

Obtaining a change can be quite costly irrespective of whether it is a positive or negative one. Naaman had to give up his pride and reputation in order to receive his healing. What is that price standing between you and your desired end? For a certain user of this Devotional, pride is what is hindering ...

(Ps 13 - Ps 15)

Memorise: "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement:" (Heb 9:27)

Read: John 17:24-26

Apart from choosing whom to serve and your ideal prayer partner or prayer couple, you would need to also choose your spiritual helpers. In your pastoral work, you will need to choose ministers to support you. In Exodus 17:9, Moses asked Joshua to choose those that would accompany him to fight the enemies. This is very i...

Read: Judges 9:12-13

In John 2:1-11, two noteworthy types of wine were mentioned worth noting. They are old wine and new wine. The old wine represents the possibilities of a man through his limited abilities. This includes one's efforts, wisdom, achievements, etc. An attribute of the old wine is t...

(Ps 7 - Ps 9)

Memorise: " But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant" (Matthew 23:11)

Read: Matthew 23:11-12

A leader must be persuasive and have vision if he must succeed in his calling. Vision is very central to achievement of goals. If you have vision, you will not only concentrate on the present needs of your church, but also their latent needs. Vision will prompt a pastor to pray for the healing anointing even when his congregatio...

Read: Exodus 14:10-18

God is never static: He is always on the move. Like Him, we should also be on the move. But whenever you are about to move over to the other side - especially if it is your next level, certain challenges that were not there before will suddenly spring up. Those who pre...

Read: Mark 4:26-29

One quick way to peg your progress is by becoming proud. If you leave the island of humility, the angels of promotion may never cross your path. But one thing about God's promotion however is that it is systematic: it is executed step by step. Isaiah 28:10 says, "For precep...

Pastor

Enoch A Adeboye Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches. His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
