(2 Pet 1 - 2 Pet 3)

Memorise: "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it" (Prov 10:22)

Read: Genesis 2:22-23
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

"And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man" (Gen 2:23). From Genesis 2:21-23 let us consider what constitutes the woman. The word woman is obtained from the Hebrew word Ish shah which literally means man with a womb or womb-man or she- man. This means the man with capacity. When you sow seeds to God, by the time He is through with combining the bits and pieces, He will give you a finished product that has capacity to do what you could not do, or carry what you could not carry. No wonder Proverbs 10:22 says God's finished product has capacity to carry additional wealth and riches. Also, Proverbs 18:22 says God's finished product comes with capacity to carry favour. If you receive your partner from God, you can be sure the fellow is not alone. She is coming with lots of goodies. She becomes the container with which your blessings can be conveyed to you from the Heavenly store house.

The woman is first a man before becoming a woman. Your woman is your duplicate with extra capabilities and possibilities. In the above passage, Adam named her woman because she was taken out of him. Not every lady can be your woman. It takes the one that has been taken out of you to form a woman. Such a woman has the better part of you with her. If you miss her, only God can tell how you can recover what you lost. This is why a man without his God-given woman is incomplete. Are you married? To what extent do you involve your wife in what you do? Some men regard their wives as separate individuals. Some even treat them as slaves or second class human beings. No wonder they cannot get the extra benefits and favours that are embedded in their wives. Apart from Jesus Christ, the woman (not just any lady) is the best thing that ever happened to a man. Believe it or not, that woman - your legally wedded wife, carries certain blessings. If you treat her with respect, love and lots of care, she will empty her sack of goodness on you; but if you maltreat her, you will lose those things - may be to some one else. Treat her well.

ACTION POINT:
Appreciate your wife and thank God for her. Hold her in your embrace and pray for her.
