(Judg 5 - Judg 8)

Memorise: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matt 6:33)

Read: Exodus 33:18-23
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

Moses was one of God's favorites. He was someone set apart for the King of glory. After 40 years of walking with God, the Lord asked him to request something special. Moses asked for only one thing - that God should show him His glory. God said he had asked for a hard thing because if Moses should see His face, he would die. But because of their closeness, the Lord decided to hide him inside a rock. He covered his face with His hands and let him see only His back as he passed by. When Moses saw a glimpse of God's back side, his face began to glow like the sun. Joshua, and the Israelites saw him and ran away in fear. Then he realized for him to relate with fellow human beings, he would have to cover his face with a veil. When you have a glimpse of God, it will be difficult for fellow human beings to look into your eyes. When you catch a glimpse of God, unpleasant situations, circumstances and enemies will have no choice but to flee from your presence and fall in line. Even without hearing from you, once they see the same glory that covers God on you, they will obey you the same way they obey God. They will be seeing you as their creator and so would accord you the same regard as their Creator. If enemies can look you in the eye and challenge you, it could be because they are not seeing God's glory. Where is that glory in your life?

When you look through scriptures, you will find that the wise do not pursue earthly things, but rather the Almighty God. This is because they know that pursuing things of the world amounts to chasing shadows. But when you are pursuing God, you are pursuing substance. If you get the substance, automatically, the shadow will follow (Matt 6:33). Your greatest desire should be to see God. The ultimate reward available for those who determine to serve God in holiness is that they will see Jesus on the last day. Matthew 2:1-16 says after the birth of Jesus, wise men from the east travelled two years just to see Jesus. These were wealthy, noble men. It is not easy to leave your business for two years and be on the road. They were equally very wise. They immediately recognized His star, worshipped and offered Him gifts. Wise men know that you do not enter the presence of a king empty-handed; much more the presence of the King of kings. What is your uppermost desire; to acquire material blessings or to get to know Him more?

ACTION POINT:
If witches and wizards can look into your eyes and dare you, it shows you lack divine fire and glory.
