(Jer 1 - Jer 2)
Memorise: "Blessed is he that considereth the poor. The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble" (Ps 41:1)
Read: 2 Timothy 1:1-4
1 ¶ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
"Blessed is he that considereth the poor. The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble" (Ps 41:1). If the promises in Psalm 41:1-3 are anything to go by, God will remember the one who remembers the poor. One way you touch God's heart is by ministering to the poor. Proverbs 19:17 says, "He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again". If you want God to remember you, be His creditor! How? By ministering substantially to the poor and needy ones in your church and neighborhood. You could extend a helping hand even to those who are far off. You can be certain that God does not forget His creditors because the One who commands us to pay our debts will not end up owing. The more you minister to the needy, the more God owes you, and the more He will be moved to remember you. Have you been blessing the poor around you? Don't stop. Soon, your day of divine remembrance will come.
Cornelius provoked divine remembrance through alms giving and prayers. If you cannot pray, God will forget your request. If you repeatedly call on Him in prayer, He will be forced to remember you. There is someone using this Devotional, for a while now you have been seeking God's face over an issue without any feedback. Congratulations! Your day of divine remembrance has just come. Go and thank God and celebrate. Closely allied to prayer and alms giving is that if you want to be remembered by God, first remember fellow men. In 2 Timothy 1:3, Paul said that he remembered his son, Timothy in prayers both night and day. If you can sow remembrance as a seed, you can harvest it too. There are some people with certain challenges in your local assembly that you could support in prayers. If you will remember them and regularly visit and encourage them, pray for them and assist financially and materially, God will remember you. Gossip and backbiting are rife in the Body of Christ because we have failed to do what we were called to do. If you cannot remember others and assist them especially in prayers, Satan will give you another assignment - to gossip about them. Can you be gossiping about someone you are genuinely praying for and assisting? Earthly remembrance produces heavenly remembrance.
ACTION POINT:
Within the next seven days, sow seeds of intercession in the lives of 10 people who are going through tough times. Afterwards, ask God to remember you.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
