(1 Sam 25 - 1 Sam 28)
Memorise: "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it" (Mal 3:10)
Read: Deuteronomy 28:1-12
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
Deuteronomy 28:1-12 says if you diligently listen to God's voice and comply 100%, blessings will pursue and overtake you. What does it mean to overtake? It simply refers to something chasing you which suddenly catches up with you. This year, God's blessings will catch up with you. To be embarrassed on the other hand is when people come to ask you what you need and you tell them you need nothing; yet they will not stop until they present you with either a fat cheque or big blessing. The Lord will bless you to a point of embarrassment this season. Malachi 3:10 says, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it". According to this verse, God surely knows how to embarrass His faithfuls with blessings. To be embarrassed here means to receive a steady flow of God's blessings until you say it is enough. When God wants to embarrass a contractor, clients will be taking turns to award him contracts. If you tell them you are already preoccupied with several projects to last you 12 months, they will tell you they will wait. There is a user of this Devotional who is desirous of this. The Lord will embarrass you with blessings this period until you beg Him to give you a breathing space. As He visits you, just worship Him and testify to His glory.
If you want promotion, be holy. If you are holy, God will be on your side. And when God is on your side, every closed door will fling open. It is expected that believers should be in their latter house shinning for Jesus so that people will say since you became a Christian, you began to lend to nations. Rather than radiating God's glory to attract unbelievers unto God's Kingdom, we pollute it. This is very wrong. Scientists tell us how the sun produces light. They say the sun is one big massive lump of uranium - a kind of material used in making bombs. What the sun does daily is to take a little out of itself and burn it up and from there it generates heat. John 3:30 says for Jesus to increase in you, you must decrease - burn every thing in you that negates God's nature so that His nature can shine unhindered through you.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
