(Prov 29 - Prov 31)
Memorise: "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple" (Ps 27:4)
Read: Psalm 26:7-9
7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
Psalm 26:6 says before we approach God's altar, we must first make our ways right with God and man. God requires innocence at the altar, hence we must strive towards this always. Today's reading however talks about David a man after God's heart. Whenever someone is asked to write a testimonial about an individual, he is faced with a challenging responsibility. If you are asked to write one about your friend, you would want to write something good but also want to strike a balance by being honest, if you are a Christian. It is very likely bias could prevent you from giving a 100% accurate report about your friend. But when God who can never lie writes about somebody, you will find nothing short of 100% truth. If I were to write the Bible, there are certain details about some of my favorite characters I will omit. One of such characters is Peter. When God met David he said He had found a man after His heart. I became curious; I wanted to know what was in David that made God say such gracious words about him. David was a great worshipper of Jehovah. Beyond worship, he loved God passionately. In Psalm 27:4, David says, "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple". His only request here was for him to dwell in God's house. He knew if only he could be there, he was secure. How often do you frequent God's house? When you go, do you feel compelled or it is out of your heart?
Some people visit God's house once in a while but the real blessing is reserved for those who are permanent residents there. When you dwell in the house of the Lord and the Almighty God is dwelling in your house, if death comes knocking, you would just tell the Door - Jesus Christ to help you see who is at the door. Once He goes there, all evil visitors will tell Him they came to a wrong address. Another very special habitation of the Almighty God is you (1 Cor 6:19-20). If you regard your body as God's temple, you will not feed it with junk - evil thoughts, bitterness, unforgiveness, lust, etc. Instead of feeding God's temple with God's Word, Christian music, etc., some are spending several hours watching local or foreign cable television stations, movies, etc. Have you taken proper care of your body - God's house? Is it clean or full of filth?
ACTION POINT:
Pray in the spirit for three hours today. And note the revelations, dreams, impressions and leading you receive.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
