BIBLE IN A YEAR: Jer. 27-29
MEMORIZE: “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me” ( Ps 50:15)
READ: Isaiah 1:18-19
18. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land
From the story of the 10 lepers recorded in Luke 17:11-19, we learn that they did not allow Jesus to enter their village before they cried to Him for help. It is said that opportunity once lost may never be regained. As soon as they saw the opportunity, they seized it fast and got His attention. Psalm 50:15 says, “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me”. When God makes a promise, He is committed to fulfilling it. The reason many are where they are today is because they failed to pray when they should. Unlike the 10 lepers, Jesus was passing their way but they faced another direction. If you fail to call for help, help will not come.
When I was a child, I was playing with a little tennis ball. I kicked it and it landed on the roof of the house. When I moved back, I could see it, so I got a stick with which I hoped to bring it down. But because I was small, when I moved closer, I would be unable to see the ball. I was stranded there for almost an hour without knowing what to do. Meanwhile, my father was sitting on his easy chair and keenly watching me. When I was fed up, I cried out for his help and he came to my rescue. God is much taller, stronger and wiser than you. What you have been struggling with is only a piece of cake to Him. But you must ask before He comes to your rescue.
When the lepers cried to the Lord, He told them what to do. As they obeyed, they saw that they were healed. This shows that there is healing in obedience. Each time you act on God’s instruction you receive a measure of healing capable of affecting a specific area of your life. Isaiah 1:18-19 says if you respond to His call, you will be healed of the problems of sin and dryness. Are you sick in your body, mind or finances? Find out if there is any area of your life where your obedience is not complete and immediately take corrective action.
Obedience brings healing which means disobedience causes sicknesses. Only one of the lepers - a stranger cared to return to thank the Lord. He got the Lord’s commendation and something extra. If you think you have been really blessed, wait until you thank Him sufficiently: you will get something extra! And that extra is bigger and more precious than the first blessing. This means God may not release His best when He gives you the first blessing, but wants you to trigger His best through thanksgiving. Only the thankful can access God’s extras!
ACTION POINT:
The best of your blessings are retained in the Heavenly store house. They can only be transported from there to you through quality thanksgiving.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
