(Neh 10 - Neh 13)
Memorise: "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed" (Gen 12:3)
Read: Joshua 14:6-14
6 ¶ Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.
7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.
8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
10 And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.
The 12 spies Moses sent to the promised land returned with two sets of reports. Ten of them said they had seen the next level and that it was beautiful, but the problems to encounter before getting there were too many, hence it was preferable for them to remain at their present level. The other two differed as they said as long as God was with them, they would not only see or have a foretaste of the next level, but also possess it. After 45 years, the only survivors of that generation - Caleb and Joshua were still alive. While Joshua was now the national leader, Caleb was still strong enough to take on mountains. The average runs from mountains while the outstanding dares them. A mountain could refer to a problem. When Caleb said, "Give me this mountain", he was praying to God to make him a problem-solver. It means he was asking the Lord for wisdom, ability and necessary gifts and endowment to enable him solve the problem of others. The only people of value on earth today are those who can solve the problems of others. A mechanic is valuable when a car breaks down. A doctor is valuable when somebody gets sick. I have heard my children make selfish prayers concerning me. They would say, ''Father, preserve him for us". Of what value are you to your family, church, community, nation or the world at large?
Some years ago, a pastor told me that whenever he woke up in the morning, he would cry unto God to send all the sick, barren and problem-laden people in the town to him. He believed if they came and God solved their problems, the church would grow automatically. The sinner has a problem. When you witness to him, and he responds, you have solved the problem. The sick has a problem. When you lay hands on the sick and he recovers, you have solved that problem. The captive has a problem. When you use the anointing of God on you to liberate the captive, you have solved the problem. "Give me this mountain" therefore is a request for one to be made a channel of blessing. Are you a channel of blessing? True channels of blessings do not just sit down doing nothing, but they search for opportunities to be a blessing to someone. They pay a price to be a blessing to others. Are you afraid of mountains or you pray for them? When was the last time you were a blessing to someone?
ACTION POINT:
Father, make my life and family a channel of blessing. Let all who come in contact with me glorify your Name.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
