Bible in One Year: Thursday, December 24, 2009 (1 Thess 4 - 1 Thess 5) Memorise: "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not" (Jn 1:5) Read: Genesis 1:1-3 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. When the Great Commander issues a command to darkness, it must surrender. In Genesis 1:3, the Commander said, 'Let there be light' and it was so. Another way of saying let there be light is 'Let the darkness go'. The moment the Commander says it's over with darkness in your life, from that instant, His light will shine on you. In Mark 10:46-52, Jesus met a young man who was tired of darkness. The Lord did not lay hands or pray for him. He only asked darkness to release His son and immediately he received his sight. Have you been experiencing darkness in any area of your life but you are now tired of it? The Commander is saying to darkness, 'Let my people go'. Your time of freedom has come. Every spirit of darkness will give way for the glorious light of Jesus to shine on you. When God says "Yes", who can oppose Him? It does not matter how many demons are operating behind the scene; when the Commander gives the order, they must all hearken just as the 2000 demons of Mark 5:1-20. When we talk about deliverance, there are some Christians who are nonchalant because they are not in bondage. However, they fail to realize that there are levels of freedom. Some people are bound like the man in Mark 5. Others are not bound but are imprisoned. They can walk or move around but there is a barricade - a wall preventing them. For instance in 2 Kings 6:24-29, nobody was bound hand and foot in Samaria. Also, you could not say they were demonized but the enemy surrounded them to a point that things took a drastic downturn, and some began to eat their children. Some people think they are free but they are imprisoned. A woman took the picture of her husband to a herbalist and it was tucked into an evil container. If the container is opened, the husband will be normal and behave like a good husband but the moment he wants to take control of the home, the woman will send a message to the herbalist and they will shut the container. Then the husband will become next to insane. There are even those like Naaman who are free in all areas but one. Before you jump for joy, find out the degree of freedom or bondage you are experiencing and then call on the Lord to salvage your situation. You shall be totally free. ACTION POINT: Father, shine Your light on me and my family and displace every iota of darkness.
