(2 Cor 7 - 2 Cor 9)

Memorise: "Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me" (Matt 18:32)

Read: Matthew 18:23-35
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

"Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me" (Matthew 18:32). One powerful bait that is destroying the church today and putting many into Satan's trap is unforgiveness. If you still harbor unforgiveness, bitterness or grudges against anyone, especially fellow believers, you are treading on very dangerous grounds. Let us learn from today's reading. The first thing that unforgiveness does is that it changes your name in a negative way. It is good to have a name change. In fact, until you change your name from sinner to saint, you can never partake of Abrahamic covenant blessings. The father of faith had a name change from Abram to Abraham, his wife from Sarai to Sarah; his grand son from Jacob to Israel. Here, their new names brought Heaven's favour, broke barriers and caused them to fulfil destiny. But when your name is changed because of unforgiveness, it works against you on every side, and puts your trip to your destiny in reverse gear.

The Lord called this unforgiving servant a wicked person. That changed everything! If you are wise, you will be very concerned about what the Lord calls you. The name the Lord calls you is what Heaven calls you. The name the Lord calls you is what will determine how the Heavenly hosts and the satanic forces will relate with you. If you cannot forgive someone who offended you, God calls you a wicked fellow. The terrible thing about this is that, that fellow would be judged like anyone who never knew God. Apart from unforgiveness, maltreating fellow believers, using your position or office to intimidate, oppress and deny them their rights, make you a wicked fellow. Refusing to feed the flock and cater for them as expected by the Lord, but leisurely spending your time to the detriment of the sheep makes you wicked. Lodging workers salaries in fixed deposits, so that you can earn some interest for yourself, at their expense, makes you wicked. Inability to call a spade a spade just because the offender is of the same tribe makes you a wicked person and puts you under divine curse. Knowing the right thing to do but deliberately refraining from it, makes you a wicked fellow. Are you branded wicked by Heaven? Repent and restitute your ways today.

ACTION POINT:
Ask God to destroy every root of wickedness in your life.
