(Rev 4 - Rev 6)
Memorise: "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 Jn 4:4)
Read: 1 John 4:4-6
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
"Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand" (Eph 6:13).
The devil is very subtle. He attacks people from unexpected quarters. Before drawing up a plan to ensnare Daniel, his detractors first studied him carefully and discovered that he could never compromise on prayer, hence that became the area under attack. If you love God so much, watch out: Satan could create a scenario to destroy that love. The good news is that no matter the wiles employed by the evil genius, we are able by God's armor to withstand him. Never run but stand and fight him to a standstill. Why must you stand and fight the devil? It is because God has assured us in 1 John 4:4 and Romans 8:37 that we cannot lose that battle because He is with us. Also, 1 Peter 5:8-9 commands us to resist him continually. In addition, if we persistently resist him, we will discover who he really is - a coward. Satan only makes noise. If you decide to stand up to him and look him in the eyes and resist him persistently, you will discover he has no stamina for anything too hot. He will not just run, but flee (James 4:7).
I am the last born and only son of my mother. I have three sisters. While still young, and because I was handsome, my sisters would always rise in my defence. They would fight any fly that came near me. Anytime someone beat me and I ran home, my sister would go with me to fight the fellow. One day, my sister said, "What's wrong with you? Are you not a boy? The next time somebody strikes you, strike back". The next time I was hit, it was not easy to hit back. I ran home but they refused to go with me, but that I should go and fight for myself. I returned to meet the boy. He saw me coming and trembling and was looking when I lifted my hand and gave him a blow. He was shocked because he was much bigger than I. He slapped me and I retaliated. Then I discovered that the more punches I threw, the bolder and more fiery I became. That was why I ended up becoming a boxer. This is applicable to the devil. Like that big boy, the devil is a bully. The first time you resist him, it will be with great difficulty because he would roar more and more. Do not run. As you continue to resist him in the Name of Jesus, and by the Word of God, very soon, he will take to his heels. In what areas of your life has the devil been dealing with you? With a new resolve, you can put him to flight. Yes, you can beat this bully!
ACTION POINT:
Until you dare the kingdom of darkness by the power of Christ inside you, you may never discover how potentially victorious you are.

Fondly known as G.O or Daddy G.O, Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. Sheer curiosity and the search for a solution to a personal problem led Pastor Adeboye to worship at RCCG – Ebute-Metta in 1973. It was a most unlikely place of worship for a professor of Mathematics as the church had very few educated people and it lacked the comfort and grandeur of the Orthodox churches.
His desire to reach the ends of the earth is captured in this statement, “I would love to have a breakthrough to such a height that I can lend to nations and preach on every television and radio station at least one hour per day.”
