(1 Sam 4 - 1 Sam 7)

Memorise: "If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me" (Ps 139:11)

Read: Psalm 139:7-12
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

"The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee" (1 Sam 24:12).

When David met king Saul in an unguarded moment, he could have killed him but because he was the anointed of the Lord, he respected the anointing on the backslidden king and spared his life. Thereafter, he referred his case to the Judge of the universe. Do you know that every heavily guarded enemy has an unguarded moment? May God cause you to recognize your enemy's unguarded hour and subdue it in Jesus' Name. David appealed to the Highest Judge because of what he knew about Him. Isaiah 11:3-5 says God will judge the poor in righteousness and equity. He is able to make the fairest judgements because He is privy to all events that relate to the case. Earthly judges that should follow God's exemplary standards unfortunately fail to do so in several situations. In the world we live in, virtually every judge has a price. I know of a judge who, whenever it is time to deliver judgement, would go with two judgements. One would favour the plaintiff while the other would favour the accused. Whichever party meets him minutes before he enters the court and proves to be the highest bidder, will have the judgement in his favour. You can settle a human judge but who can settle the Almighty God? With what can you bribe God? What is there that He does not already have?

Whenever you are falsely accused, take comfort in the fact that the ultimate Judge is acquainted with all the details. Romans 8:33 says it is God that justifies. If the whole world condemns you but God says you have no case, you are free. Even if the whole world turned against you, if God is on your side, fear not. There is a user of this Devotional for whom it appears the whole world is falsely accusing over something. Fear not. The Lord, the One who justifies the saints says you have nothing to worry about because He has justified you, and your innocence will come to light. Go ahead and worship Him. You have nothing to fear when your all is handed over to God. Looters of government treasury can run to other countries but when God is pursuing you, you have nowhere to hide. Are you running from God? Quietly present yourself before Him or else by the time He exposes you, you would wish the ground opened and swallowed you.

ACTION POINT:
Can you run from your skin or shadow? If you can, then you can hide from God.
